Tourist Board of Bjelovar-Bilogora County

Unfortunately, Bjelovar and region of the Bjelovar-Bilogora County have occurred Communist-Bolshevik crimes, especially in the post-war period in 1945.

The best known execution site is in the Lug Forest where in the summer 1992 it has been found seven burial pits, and discovered and extracted 228 skeletons of human sacrifices.

In June 2006 there was completed common grave as a lasting resting place for the victims whose remains were laid in the tomb on the June 28th 2006 with a magnificent funeral.
