The Ten Days of Astronomy event (10 DA) is known as a traditional manifestation of amateur astronomers (Kumova slama) and is already in its sixth year of existence. An astrophotography exhibition and a thematic exhibition dedicated to telescopes will both take place during the sixth Ten Days of Astronomy, its slogan being ''Eyes Full of Stars'' this year. The manifestation will also include a used astronomy equipment fair called Astro Expo.
Previous manifestations numbered 37 lectures, fifteen workshops conducted in elementary schools and high schools, and more than four hundred photographs taken by amateur astronomers - astrophotographers from all over the world. Many of the pictures were sent from the United States, China, Puerto Rico, Canada and Croatia, naturally. Many lecturers from neighboring countries joined some of our most distinguished astrophysicists and educators in participating in the events.
This year's lecturers and their lectures include:
• Bojan Markičević from Zagreb - Be careful not to go, small as thou are, under the stars, man;
• Ivica Puljak from Split - Our little sun, the star of life;
• Predrag Dominis Prester from Rijeka - Black holes;
• Ante Radonić from Zagreb - The first comet landing;
• Korado Korlević from Višnjan - We survived 2012 and the Maya calendar; what's next?;
• Muhamed Muminović from Sarajevo - Astronomy before and behind visible light.
